Second blog posting

OK, it has been eight months and it's time to start using my blog. I am inspired by my missionary friends who post, allowing folks back home to stay in touch.

I'd like to share my passions for proofreading and editing and my efforts to expand my home business, The Lass Word Proofreading and Editing. I've joined a Christian Writers' Group and at this month's meeting the other members gave me good feedback on what I have so far for a resume and testimonials. I've also spent time on websites of other proofreaders, getting lots of good ideas.

I proof regularly for three quarterly regional magazines and several missionaries' prayer letters, and am beginning to edit websites and produce a newsletter for the MTW Japan Partnership. I have proofed six full-length books and many other smaller projects. As my friend wrote in her testimonial, I love people and love communicating!

Rookie Blogger

This is my first blog entry. I was invited to my friend's blog today and decided to give it a try. Just as she said that her posts may "dry up" when her vacation is over, I don't know how often I will or should post.

It seems that after two weeks in Africa, four days at home, a week on the road with my family, and our church's Summer Bible School, I'm finally getting into the rhythm of summer, and now it's almost over!

Several biggies are also behind me: our children's standardized testing, sending out an email summary of our Africa Mission trip, and then our presentation about the trip Sunday night at church. Phew! Like Judith, now I can breathe!
